Diary 9th.Aug: "A call about an injured Snowy Owl which had been found at Strand (Fetlar) Wardens have him in an upstairs room at Bealance (RSPB house)."

Diary !3th.Aug "George is now downstairs in the 'ben' room and is eating without being forced. Wing still droops a little."

A rare migrant from the arctic.

Bobby Tulloch discovered the first recorded nest in Britain on Stakkaberg, Fetlar in 1967. After which, the pair bred for nine years and 23 young were fledged.
